Pricing

MillBooks provides a license to use the software, continuous backup of your data to the cloud, as well as customization, training, and support as needed - all for a fixed monthly cost. MillBooks has an 'off the shelf' Order Managment/Accounts Receivable product, but we also do custom software development if you already have a program and you need further development. Typical costs:

Upfront

MillBooks requires a Windows-based back-end database server running Microsoft SQL Server. The cost of this can range from a smaller server < $1,000 and running Microsoft's free SQLExpress, so < $1,000 total, to servers more like $1,000 running SQL Server that costs $2000 for a 5-user license, so $3000 total upfront cost. Just depends on the size of your organization.

Monthly

So it depends on whether you want our off-the-shelf product or custom development. But we will work with you, and we've never lost a customer because of pricing.

Software & Services:

• Unlimited customization and enhancements. Each business is different, each has its own way of doing customer discounts, types of reporting, you name it. We customize the application to fit your business and that is included in the monthly charge.

•Unlimited training and support. There are no hourly fees for training or phone support. We ‘remote in’ to your workstations, e.g. with TeamViewer, wherever you are in the country and show you how to do things on your computers or see first-hand what problems you’re having.

• Bootstrapping your data. You may have an old application you’re wanting to migrate from into MillBooks. We will migrate your data from that application into our SQL Server database at no extra charge.

• Continuous backup to the cloud. One of the biggest worries any company has is what happens to their data if their server should fail or there is a fire. MillBooks partners with TeamLogic IT to provide continuous backup to the cloud so you don’t lose any transactions and you’re able to switch over immediately and begin using a cloud-based database while your new server is getting set up. There is no additional charge for this backup service.

• Online customer interface (optional). We can give your customers a way to see their account activity, previous statements, even give them a way to place orders online (though we don’t take payment, it goes on their tab). We will adopt the look & feel of your web site and add those pages in so it appears seamless, or if you don’t have a web site at all, we can create one for you. Outside of taking on any additional web hosting costs, there is no additional cost to you.

• Development of new application. You may have an existing application, maybe its written in DOS (yes they still exist!), and maybe it does different things besides just AR (like handling your recipes or ordering or inventory) and you really want a more modern version of the application you already have. Obviously we can’t say what this would cost without knowing what it is, but our way of operating is to agree on a monthly fee and we begin development. There is no massive upfront cost.

• Truck route optimization. This is a new capability for us and we’re looking for a feed mill who is interested in seeing how an automated route planner would compare to the method you’re using right now to plan your routes. If we can come up with more efficient routes, that will save you money!
